Morgellons United is Canada’s first Morgellons disease human rights organization. We are dedicated to protecting the dignity, welfare, and rights of Morgellons patients in Canada — and worldwide — by holding government accountable to its duty to properly investigate Morgellons disease.
Since the outbreak of Morgellons disease in the early 2000s, this infectious disease has spread throughout the world with no proper government oversight by any country. Vulnerable members of the public who become infected desperately seek medical attention and are shocked to be told: “Morgellons doesn’t exist,” or “I’ve never heard of it before,” or worse, “Morgellons is a mental illness and the only cure is antipsychotic drugs until you can admit nothing is wrong with you.”
In contrast, over the past two decades, numerous scientific studies on Morgellons disease have been published in peer-reviewed journals. Morgellons disease is shown to be a debilitating multisystem infectious disease associated with tick-vectored illness and Lyme disease. In particular, the infection causes disfiguring skin lesions and microscopic fibers to grow from the skin. These unique dermal fibers have been proven to be produced by infected skin cells — keratinocytes and fibroblasts — and are composed of the body’s own structural proteins — keratin and collagen.
As the infection spreads without proper medical care, symptoms become worse, overall health declines, and the suffering is unbearable. Since government is responsible for managing public health, our goal is to ensure that the Canadian government formally review new peer-reviewed scientific evidence published since the investigation was closed and officially reopen the Morgellons disease investigation. We recognize this as the key to having Morgellons disease be validated once and for all.
OUR MISSION IS CLEAR
To have government conduct a proper institutional review of Morgellons disease based on current scientific evidence, consistent with Canada’s public health mandate and standards of accountability, and to reopen its investigation.
OUR PROMISE
Morgellons United will continue to hold government accountable until a proper investigation is conducted, including laboratory analysis of Morgellons dermal fibers, and its conclusions are publicly announced.
CONCLUSION
Once a proper public health investigation is conducted, we expect the findings to confirm what peer-reviewed research has already demonstrated — that Morgellons disease is a genuine physical disease. Only then will patients begin to receive the dignity, respect, and proper care they have been denied since the outbreak began.
Morgellons United created this petition because Morgellons disease patients have been left without proper recognition, tracking, investigation, or care for far too long. It is now time for patients, families, advocates, healthcare professionals, scientists, and members of the public to stand together and call on the Government of Canada to fulfill its public-health duties to Morgellons disease patients.
Since the early 2000s, patients and researchers have brought forward serious concerns and scientific evidence requiring responsible public-health review. Yet Morgellons disease remains unvalidated by Canadian healthcare authorities, and affected patients continue to report dismissal, psychiatric labeling, inadequate investigation, and lack of appropriate medical support.
This failure has caused real harm. Morgellons disease can be devastating, and patients deserve more than disbelief. They deserve scientific review, fair institutional treatment, and proper care grounded in current medical evidence.
For this reason, Morgellons United has created this petition to raise public awareness, build public pressure, and formally call upon the Government of Canada to review the current evidence, reopen the federal investigation, and provide a responsible public-health response.

An Unresolved Crisis – A Global Turning Point
In 2009, Canada’s Office of the Minister of Health publicly acknowledged the existence of Morgellons disease both in Canada and internationally, reporting that the Public Health Agency of Canada was actively monitoring this emerging healthcare crisis. At that time, the Minister’s Office confirmed that available information on Morgellons disease was extremely limited and effectively confirmed that no action was being taken to provide proper healthcare support to patients.
Due to the substantial body of new scientific evidence and continued cries for help from sufferers, the Canadian government has a duty to investigate Morgellons disease and a duty of care to the patients they serve.
After years of unsuccessful advocacy campaigns involving Canada's Liberal Party, the New Democratic Party, the Green Party — including the Prime Minister’s Office and two successive Federal Ministers of Health — Morgellons United was founded to carry out a new and lawful approach. As such, we are currently in direct communication with the Conservative Party of Canada Leader, Pierre Poilievre, and the Office of the Shadow Minister of Health, Dan Mazier.
We submit that Minister Mazier review more than a decade of new medical evidence — publicly available at morgellonsunited.com/research — and refer this evidence to the Federal Minister of Health, the Honourable Marjorie Michel, in his official capacity as Conservative Party of Canada Shadow Minister of Health.
We have requested that Minister Mazier formally urge the Federal Minister of Health, Marjorie Michel, to direct the Public Health Agency of Canada to reopen its investigation into Morgellons disease.
We are confident that, with the reopening of this investigation, Canada will formally recognize Morgellons disease for what it is:
A renewed Canadian investigation has the capacity to influence international recognition — reaching the World Health Organization (WHO) — and advancing proper research and patient care for all Morgellons patients worldwide.
Morgellons United will see this mission through to the very end.
Please show your support and sign our petition today — you will be directly contributing to the worldwide validation of Morgellons disease.
OUR LETTER: Requesting Canada’s Shadow Minister of Health to review all relevant scientific literature, and formally call upon the Federal Minister of Health to fulfill the obligation to direct the Public Health Agency of Canada to reopen the Morgellons disease investigation, advance formal recognition, and support proper patient care once and for all.
Over a decade of new peer-reviewed scientific research demonstrates that Morgellons disease is a physical condition, characterized by unique skin fibers composed of keratin and collagen originating from the human body. This body of evidence conclusively disproves the longstanding psychiatric classification of Morgellons disease as it establishes a clear biological pathology.
Mobilizing public pressure where it matters. Sign this petition to lawfully demand government action: reopen the Morgellons disease investigation, review the scientific evidence, and publicly commit to state-funded research and — above all — proper medical care: testing, diagnosis, disability support, and treatment for those suffering.
